In timely fashion, the left-wing organization Media Matters has launched an attack on America’s best governor, Ron DeSantis of Florida.
Media Matters claims that DeSantis paid more than $110,000 last year in fundraising expenses for the Web stie of Ben Shapiro’s Daily Wire.
The Far-Left organization was founded in 2004 by David Brock. It poses as a “media watchdog” but actually is a front for liberal organizations. In 2010 it declared “war” on Fox News, claiming months later that it had won the war.
Brock made illegal profits through the transfer of millions from a nonprofit he founded to a for-profit entity under his control, according to an IRS complaint filed in 2020 by the Patriots Foundation.
“Brock, a leading leftwing political consultant, raises millions of dollars every year to influence the media, politics, and campaigns,” said Craig Robinson, the president of the foundation. “Behind the scenes, his network of organizations have engaged in very troubling behavior that warrants serious investigation.”
Media Matters has been a frequent critic of Shapiro and other conservative commentators, including Tucker Carlson and the late Rush Limbaugh.
It is so extreme that conservatives who say a man who pretends to be a woman actually is a man are guilty of “hatred and bigotry.”
Media Matters itself is funded by the left-wing Center for American Progress, the New Democrat Network, MoveOn.org and a foundation created by Warren Buffett’s late wife, Susan – and, of course, directly socialist George Soros, who also funds some of the other backers.
Soros has spent more than $48 million funding media organizations, which dwarfs the money allegedly spent by DeSantis.
While claiming to be non-partisan Media Matters only attacks conservatives and ignores the outright racism and intolerance of people such as Joy Reid.
According to The New York Times, Media Matters “helped lay the groundwork” for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.
It is fairly obvious that the attack on DeSantis is related to the fact that he is now considered a strong candidate for president in 2024 against whoever the Democrats choose to run, and it also serves as a diversion from the news that the scam artist at the center of the crypto currency scandal had contributed millions to Democrat candidates.
That is a story the Democrat media is studiously avoiding.
