Party Animals lost to Personal Liberties at the Florida GOP

Yesterday in Orlando, the Republican Party of Florida made a bold move and removed the loyalty pledge for GOP candidates – a provision that had caused quite a stir when introduced in May.

A loyalty pledge is a commitment made by individuals, typically candidates for public office, to support the party’s platform and adhere to its principles and pledge their support to the eventual nominee…even if the nominee is not them.

Many are calling this a nod to President Trump, who famously rejected such pledges. Neither Trump nor DeSantis attended the meeting because they were giving speeches in DC. But their supporters were in the room and Trump’s team got the word out the Republican Party was attempting to keep Trump off the ballot due to this loyalty oath.

Trump won and the loyalty pledge is done.

This is a smart move by the GOP.

We have seen this same practice locally. The Republican Party leader, Dean Black, lives and breathes by the loyalty oath. He is a firm believer in party loyalty even when nearly 11,000 Republicans ignored it and voted for a Democrat in the last election due to the corrupt and outlandish campaign tactics of the Republican candidate.

If the political parties of today do not get this message loud and clear, they will cease to exist. The Democratic Party is on its last leg because their party loyalty has allowed communists to run our country. If the Republicans don’t get their act together and stand up for America instead of their party politics, they too will see the Republican Party name in history books only.

People are no longer “Party Animals.” They are loyal to their God-given freedoms afforded all Americans in the Constitution, Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence.
